Day 1: ARRIVAL
On this day Laswift Company
representative will pick you from the airport and transfer you
to your accommodation in Kampala, depending on the time of
arrival. If your flight arrives in the morning, you are advised
to have money changed this day. To get to know Kampala, you can visit some
of the landmarks in town with the help of our driver/guide.
Places may include; Kasubi Tombs, Namugongo Martyrs Shrine,
Museums and many others. Dinner and overnight at Speke Hotel
Kampala.
Day 2: KAMPALA - MURCHISON
FALLS NATIONAL PARK
Depart Kampala and head for
Murchison Falls National Park, stopping for lunch at Masindi.
Visit the magnificent falls and marvel at the mighty Nile as it
is forced into a seven-meter crevice to thunder 45 meters below.
See the series of cascades it forms, which can be viewed at
different points up to the summit. Dinner and overnight at Paraa
Lodge.
Day 3: MURCHISON FALLS
NATIONAL PARK
After an early morning
breakfast, embark on a half-day game drive on the northern bank
of the Nile. You may opt for a game walk to trail animals and
study their spoors. Game in this park includes: Rothschild
Giraffe, Elephant, Jackson Hartebeest, Lions, Oribi, Waterbucks
and a variety of savannah woodland birds. At 14.00 hrs, after
lunch, launch on a Nile boat cruise to view game at close
proximity. This is a unique encounter with a paradise of hippos
and crocodiles, among other animals. Dinner and overnight at
Paraa Lodge.
Day 4: MURCHISON FALLS -
FORT PORTAL
Depart Murchison Falls
after an early breakfast. Head for Fort Portal, the area where
Semliki & Kibale Forest National Parks are situated. The drive
is approximately 8 hours. Dinner and overnight at Ndali Lodge.
Day 5: FORT PORTAL -
SEMLIKI - FORTPORTAL
Depart early after
breakfast for the hot springs and crown the day in the pygmy
villages located near the Ituri Rainforest. The visit to the
villages has proven to be an interesting cultural experience.
The guide will have lunch arranged for you to be served as a
picnic while you experience the "real Africa". Afternoon
transfer to Fort Portal and arrive this evening at Ndali Lodge
for dinner and overnight.
Day 6: KIBALE NATIONAL PARK
After breakfast we visit
Kibale Forest National Park, which is reputed to have the
greatest variety and highest concentration of primates in East
Africa. Enjoy a guided nature walk in the tropical rainforest in
search of the wild chimpanzees, red-tailed monkeys, black and
white colobus monkeys and many others. After lunch we explore
the Crater Lake region, which has many crater lakes. Later, sit
back and relax as you let a traditional dancing group entertain
you. Dinner and overnight at Ndali Lodge.
Day 7: KIBALE - QUEEN
ELIZABETH NATIONAL PARK
Transfer to Queen Elizabeth
National Park where we take on a morning game drive in search of
the wild game: lions, elephants, buffaloes, kob etc.
Drive to the Institute of
Ecology, your accommodation in Queen Elizabeth National Park. A
buffet lunch is organized at Tembo Restaurant. At either 15.00
or 17.00 hrs we take a boat cruise along Kazinga Channel, a
natural channel between Lake Edward and Lake George. One of the
highlights of your safari, the cruise will treat you to abundant
bird life and what is perhaps the highest concentration of
hippos in Africa. Dinner at Tembo Restaurant and overnight at
Mweya Safari Lodge.
Day 8: QUEEN ELIZABETH
NATIONAL PARK
The day begins early, as
you head for the mating ground of the Uganda Kob.
Search for lions in their
natural habitat, as well as elephants, buffaloes etc. before
returning for lunch. After stretching our legs, we visit the bat
cave and hunters cave where we take a close look at the bats,
rock python and forest cobras. The same walk will provide a
chance of seeing birds, primates, tree species etc. Dinner and
overnight at Mweya Safari Lodge.
Day 9: QUEEN ELIZABETH
NATIONAL PARK - BWINDI
After breakfast, you may
choose the option of exploring Kyambura Wildlife Reserve.
Driving through grassland area, all of a sudden we come across
an amazing gorge of tropical rainforest 100 meters deep. Hike
into Kyambura River Gorge for an unforgettable experience
trekking chimpanzees. It's so rewarding to see the beautiful
river valley, home of many bird and butterfly species. Later
drive to Bwindi for dinner and overnight at Lake Kitandara
luxury tents.
Day 10: BWINDI IMPENETRABLE
FOREST NATIONAL PARK
Hikers will love the
adventure of tracking the gorillas in the beautiful ecosystem of
the park. As gorilla tracking is unpredictable, it is difficult
to forsee how many hours you will actually hike. It may take up
to 8 hours, and you should be prepared to a walk long distance
in steep and muddy conditions, sometimes with rain overhead,
before you encounter any gorillas. Anyone who has made the trek
will be quick to say that in any circumstances the thrill of
seeing the gorillas makes it all worthwhile.
For conservation purposes,
time spent with the gorillas is limited to one hour. The ranger
guide always briefs you on how to behave with these gentle
giants.

Lake Kitandara Luxury tents.
Day 11: BWINDI - LAKE
BUNYONYI
As an option, participants
can have a guided nature walk in Bwindi and choose from one of
the 5 trails or the New Village trail. After lunch, we depart
for Lake Bunyonyi. Dinner and overnight at camping at Bushara
Island Camp.
Day 12: LAKE BUNYONYI
After a rigorous day at
Bwindi, most clients will welcome some relaxing moments on the
shores of this peaceful lake. The options here are birding,
cycling, swimming or canoeing. Dinner and overnight at Bushara
Island Camp.
Day 13: LAKE BUNYONYI -
LAKE MBURO NATIONAL PARK
After breakfast, we drive
around 4 hours to Lake Mburo National Park. A game drive today
will enable us to see the zebras, topis, elephants, elands,
impalas, buffaloes etc. Dinner and overnight at Mantana luxury
tented camp.
Day 14: LAKE MBURO NATIONAL
PARK - KAMPALA - JINJA
After an early morning
breakfast, we transfer to Kampala, then to Jinja where we visit
the Source of the River Nile. Places to visit are Bujagali
Falls, the Source of the Nile and a number of fishing villages.
Dinner and overnight at Nile Resort Jinja or Speke Hotel
Kampala.
Day 15: CITY TOUR
(DEPENDING ON FLIGHT TIME) AND DEPARTURE
After breakfast, transfer
to Kampala for partial city tour and later shopping after lunch.
You are later taken to the airport for your return flight back
home.
We have two types of
Safaris, Some opt for Luxury Safari (lodges / hotels) and others
opt for Budget Safaris (camping and simple accommodation).
The prices Include:
All ground transportation,
Game drives, Park entrance fees, Chimp trekking permits, Boat
launches, Ranger fees, All meals and Accommodation.
The prices Exclude:
Gorilla Permits fee, items
of personal effects, bar bills, tips, personal insurance, air
charters and laundry.
Note: We do provide
quotation also
for those interested in traveling budget. Please request for it
and we shall cater to your needs
A Gorilla permit costs USD 500 each. They must be booked at least 3 months in advance.
